Hakata Original Tonkotsu Ramen
Hakata-style tonkotsu with non-fried straight noodles.
A Sapporo Ichiban and Marutai collaboration: non-fried straight noodles in a Hakata-style tonkotsu broth with garlic, scallion and sesame oils.
About this ramen
Hakata Original Tonkotsu comes from a collaboration between Sanyo Foods and Marutai, a Japanese maker known for its stick-style ramen. The straight noodles are non-fried, made from just wheat flour, salt and alkaline salts, for a fresh, handmade-like bite. The soup base leans on a seasoned oil of garlic, sesame and scallion, with soybean and garlic powders, soy sauce and sesame seeds. No pork appears on the ingredient list; the tonkotsu character comes from oils and seasonings. Each package holds two servings, and Sanyo cites the Marutai noodle's more than 60 years as a long-seller in Japan.
