Bulguri: Buldak + Neoguri in a Frying Pan
Bulguri cooks Samyang Buldak with Nongshim Neoguri: the seafood depth of Neoguri with Buldak's heat climbing on top, somewhere between spicy seafood noodle soup (jjamppong) and spicy braised chicken. The combination got a big boost when BTS member Jungkook shared how he makes it. A swirl of perilla oil at the end rounds it out.

You'll need
- Water: about 2¾ cups (22 oz/650 mL)
- Perilla oil: about 1 teaspoon, for drizzling (toasted sesame oil works if you can't find it)
Method
- 1
Pour about 2¾ cups (22 oz/650 mL) of water into a frying pan. A wide frying pan works better than a pot for this one.
- 2
Add all of the Buldak liquid sauce, about half of the Neoguri soup powder, and the Neoguri vegetable flakes and dried kelp. Bring it to a boil.
- 3
When the water boils, add both noodle blocks. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes, keeping an eye on the pan, and add a little more water if it starts to run dry.
- 4
Finish with the Buldak flake packet (roasted sesame and seaweed) and a swirl of perilla oil.
Perilla oil: one swirl around the pan is enough. It adds a nutty, savory finish that pulls the seafood and the heat together.
Too spicy? Use half of the Buldak sauce and a little more of the Neoguri powder.
